Decorative Screens & Doors

“Defining Space through Deometry, Pattern, and Material.”

FINAL REVISED WEB

Streamline Modern creates Art Deco screens and doors that define space through geometry, pattern, and material. Our work includes decorative room dividers, privacy panels, architectural partitions, and entry doors, all inspired by the bold graphic language of the 1920s and 1930s. Each piece is custom fabricated in bronze, aluminum, and glass to serve both visual and functional roles within an interior.

Drawing from masters such as Donald Deskey and Jean Dunand, our designs feature geometric compositions, stylized motifs, and rhythmic patterning. Screens range from pierced metal and architectural grilles to etched or illuminated glass panels, while doors incorporate stepped profiles, geometric glazing, and decorative metal overlays, balancing period character with contemporary performance.

Design & Fabrication

Screens and doors are produced through specialized metalworkers using period-inspired designs and fabrication techniques. Methods accommodate freestanding panels and decorative door systems, with engineering focused on stability, smooth operation, and long-term durability.

Applications

Open-plan room dividers, privacy screens, decorative partitions, and statement entry doors. Materials include brushed aluminum and selectively back-lit panels.

Every screen and door combines Art Deco visual drama with thoughtful historical design or original compositions scaled to meet specific architectural requirements, making them suitable for residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors.

Inspired by the Skyline

In this imagined 1930s smoke room, conversation lingers beneath low light and rising plumes — a quiet moment suspended in time. The backdrop is architectural: doors inspired by the iconic detailing of the Chrysler Building reinterpret one of Art Deco’s most celebrated design languages.

The original Chrysler Building is renowned for its stainless steel crown, geometric ornament, and mastery of vertical rhythm — a monument to modernity completed in 1930 at the height of the Art Deco movement. Its decorative metalwork and stylized forms represent the optimism, ambition, and precision of the machine age.

These custom doors reimagine that architectural vocabulary in functional form. Streamlined geometry, stepped symmetry, and disciplined proportion transform the back wall into more than a backdrop — it becomes an architectural statement. The space feels cinematic, almost theatrical, yet grounded in historical design principles.

At Streamline Modern, our work draws from authentic Deco precedents, translating monumental architecture into intimate, livable environments. These doors are not copies — they are reinterpretations that honor the spirit of the original while allowing the aesthetic to live again in contemporary interiors.

Art Deco was never only about ornament. It was about atmosphere, confidence, and a belief in progress. In this room, that spirit lingers in steel, shadow, and form.
